Bought a couch and a table from here, the couch of which is Ashley store brand. It went on recall shortly after for a fire risk. Nice. The store decided they wouldn't do anything for me and I had to do all of if myself. Nice.

So I submit my recall information. Takes a year and a half to get the parts in, and then it says I have to work with them to set up an appointment. Nice.

Got a call this morning - no appointment. No tech will be sent out. They don't have a tech, apparently, even though they have a full size store here. So now I'm stuck trying to repair my three thousand dollar couch, which has been on recall for almost two years, because neither Ashley/City the store or Ashley the corporation cares.

I don't care if Ashley and City are the last furniture store on earth - I'm not buying from them again. I'd sooner build a woodworking shop and start making furniture myself.

City Furniture is a cornerstone business in Prince George. I have been dealing with them for 25 years, and never once had a bad experience. Nick, Eric, Joe and Don are the epitome of professional service.
They are knowledgeable, and have always been able to help me find what I’m looking for. Their prices are fair and reasonable.

Highly do NOT recommend. Upon purchasing a couch with the warranty 5 years ago and putting in a claim the warranty was to “replace sectional and ottoman”. Jay called us two weeks ago to “come in and pick up the couch” (exactly as he stated on the phone) we brought in our old couch and they disposed of it right away. They then proceeded to tell us they no longer had that couch and we were told we’d have to get a much smaller couch or pay a significant increase even though the warranty stated to replace the couch and ottoman. The similar one was worth $2000 but we were getting a $1350 credit after being told we could come in and pick up our new couch. If we had been told on the phone that we would have to pay a difference we would have had no issue with it however walking in expecting to get a replacement couch after BUYING the warranty ($200 which didn’t go towards the price of the new couch) and not getting it on top of having to pay more for a couch when not being informed or being able to get our old couch back was extremely upsetting and disappointing. As a customer service worker telling the customer the whole truth on the phone is always what is expected of you and what I have done always. I found this downright horrible customer service and then having Jay not even apologized or admit his wrong doing of not giving us all of the information on the phone he also proceeded to laugh and say “let’s not talk about this anymore”. Why not? Is it because you can’t admit your wrong doing and own up to it? Shame on you and I hope you can realize you mistake and start giving customers the entire truth so you don’t screw over other families. We will not be back and don’t recommend others shop here either unless you want to deal with rude and untruthful workers.

A terrible business. If an appliance under warranty stops working, the employees here will leave it up to you to deal with repairs yourself. They will lie to you, give you the runaround and then ultimately tell you it's up to you and they will refuse to honor the warranty.

Save yourself an extended nightmare and shop elsewhere.
