I love the Gourmet House! Love them most when they are not busy. I've been there several times for lunch on Saturdays, and they have been excellent each and every time. However I was there for lunch on a week day last week as well on a week day about a month ago. A month ago the food was excellent but service slow. Last week it was worse. The poor server did all she could to service the entire restaurant. She dealt with customers waving in the air for their checks, customers wanting to have their food cooked a special way and others waiting to give their order all at once and yet others getting the wrong order. And oh another to pick up an order. She did it all with the best smile she could muster and as gracefully as humanly possible and provided the best customer service I have ever seen. My order was wrong but it was delicious so I kept it. It was based on this experience that we will most definitly not be returning on a weekday around noon but will continue to keep coming back.......I know the service will be the best that can be provided at the time and the food will be delicious!

Alena was super effective, our jasmine tea was served with a lemon juice concentrate, delicious. Wonton soup was amazing! Our dishes served hot and fresh. Granddaughter thought the orange chicken was the best! The lunch meal is a great price, comes with soup & egg roll

Had 5 o'clock reservations. Stood at door for 10 minutes and was seated with no menus. Got our menus myself and waited another 35 minutes with no water or help. When the waitress came to our table we said if we order will it take another half hour or longer. She said 15 minutes and stated if you don't want to wait no biggie. Unprofessional. We were one of five families that walked out the door. Went to another place. We will never go back. The pick up was moving fast and the inside just waited.

The food was delicious, my server was super nice, the atmosphere was pretty chill. The only thing I didn't like was my smoothie. It wasn't to my liking. But if I'm ever in that area and have a craving... I'd definitely stop by again. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

They had the best eggrolls and the food was fresh up until my order today. I am not sure why they changed a good thing but there seems to be a significant decrease in quality. So sad. This was my go to place for over 10 years.

We’ve been loyal gourmet house customers for years now(30-40+orders). Delivery is so fast and after so many orders -to never have a single disappointment is truly incredible! Everything has always been delicious, hot, and delivered earlier than their estimated time.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Under new management.
The original Gourmet House is no more. Ownership changed hands and now the food & caring concerned management service is no more.
Ordered Spicy Mongolian Beef, but received plain beef with lots and lots of onions without the red peppers 🌶️. You can’t serve spicy Mongolian beef without the red peppers. Witnessed waitress tell the manager about the situation, but he ignored it. Previous owners were always concerned about the customers visit. They used to go around asking how is everything going. If there was a problem - they would take care of it. I was surprised that the owner did not come over and apologize for the poor food serving I received. Too bad - I used to really love going here. So sad. This used to be the best I have ever tasted. I used to order here several times a month! I think they sold the place because the quality of ingredients and preparation went down drastically a few years ago. I waited to say anything because I thought maybe they just needed some time. Tried again last week and it's SO bad. Egg rolls taste like they were from a box, weak flavors, watery everything. With many MANY better options on Randall and in Cary I have no need to ever go here again.
