The food is alright, but it is definitely very expensive. It easily costs $40+ for two people to eat here. The breading on the fish is so light, crispy and perfect. The fish itself is okay, and it doesn't have a strong fishy flavor or anything, but the meat is a little but mushy. The cole slaw is okay--it didn't have very much flavor, but the onion rings and the tartar sauce are so good! Service is really good too. I will definitely be back!

I LOVE H. Salt! Hot, crispy, delicate cod fillets with steaming hot French fries, a Southern delicacy called hush puppies, sweet Cole slaw and for me, when available, crab cakes! Man, after Yoshinoya this is probably my favorite fast food joint!

Fire đŸ”„ my top 3 spot to go for fish n chips! They only sell fish n ships so you know it’s good. Hot and ready! Also the fries are crinkle cut. This hit the spot! The crunch and all!!!

I was very disappointed in our meal. It has been years since I had eaten here but I remember it was so delicious. Not anymore! I ordered 2 $17 plate with everything. I dont know if I got the left over un fresh last of the batch because everything was fried to much and hard to eat. The shrimp was tuff. The hush puppies were like hard rocks. The fried clams were fried to a crisp. The only items that were Ok was the cole slaw, not worth the money for a small size like 2 bites worth, and the fries. They were OK. I will never eat here again! And I had been eating here since the mid 1950's.

The fish and chips were really good! A little greasy, but good overall. The tarter sauce had a distinct good flavor to it. Overall a good atmosphere where I felt as if I was at home. Highly recommend to go here, but not the absolute best fish and chips Ive had. The owner was very sweet and hard working. She made me feel comfortable the whole time I was there.

I was disappointed and will not return.

The Pros
Fresh tasting fish and some quality ingredients
Friendly staff
Parking was easy
Reasonable price

The Cons
The food lacked salt and flavor, and I don’t have a high-salt tolerance.

The oil smelled and tasted old.

My french fries (chips) were burnt and didn’t have salt.

The cook/cashier handled my money and operated the cash register without washing her hands or putting on gloves. A turnoff but I let it slide and rationalized it even though I was displeased.

I won’t be back. I’m glad I finally tried it because I loved this place as a child. Other chains don’t do Fish & Chips right. I really wanted to like this place especially since they have oysters, clams and other tasty items like hush puppies.
