We chose this restaurant based on its high ratings. We later discovered they offer a free drink for 5-star reviews. While I appreciate the offer, I prefer to leave an unbiased review. The food was decent, but I felt it was overpriced for the quality. The meat, in particular, was quite salty. It didn't quite live up to the 5-star hype. We will not be returning anytime soon.

My family and I were in the area looking for lunch and decided to try Hiang Ji Roasted Meat & Noodle House because of its high ratings on Google. When we sat down, we saw a sign offering a free barley drink for a 5-star Google review, which raised a red flag for me. The shop is quite small with limited seating, though it was empty during our visit.

The food arrived very quickly, which was great since we were hungry, but the quality was pretty average. The dry noodles were firm and springy, but the soup noodles had soggy, soft noodles. The fried wantons served with the wanton noodles were disappointing—they weren’t crispy, likely because they were pre-fried, and the skin had turned chewy.

I wouldn’t recommend the beef brisket—it was tough, dry, and had more fat than tendon, making it an unappealing choice. Overall, the food was okay, but for the price, I expected more. I’m also skeptical of the 5-star review gimmick. There are better options in the area, so I’d personally give this place a skip.

They are giving a free barley drink if you rate them 5 stars but I won’t do that. Looking at the reviews I think a lot of people choose to go for the free drink…

I feel the food is average, for the price you can dine in restaurants but to be honest the serving is quite big for the price. The meat are too salty and hard for both the roasted meat and char siew. The soup is bland but the dumplings are not bad and filled with meat.

At first sight, very impressed with the char siew appearance on display. They definitely used 五花腩to produce half lean and fat meat char siew.

Char Siew Wanton Noodle ($8.50):
Decent portion of noodle and char siew. Served with two fried dumpling and a bowl of soup dumplings. Considering the portion and that we are dining in a shop with some aircond, this is an expected price to pay at Holland V.

Unfortunately it was a huge letdown given the high hopes on their char siew. It was extremely over-marinated with overpowering sweetness and saltiness. It was too much to handle that we needed to gulp down few glasses of tea to wash off the palate. Meat was otherwise tender.

Noodle was very normal with sticky texture. Fried pork lard did not elevate the taste much.

Also ordered Char Siew & Roast Pork Rice ($8.90). In fact, roast pork tasted better with retention of crunchy skin.

Soy sauce kai lan was charged $7.90, very pricy for a slightly larger than palm size plate.

Not sure if this is their usual standard of char siew but given the price to pay, not a place we would purposely travel to try again.

Quite a nice place. A more spacious version of a traditional HK "char chan teng" noodle shop.

Also packed a pig trotter in dark sauce vinegar (猪脚醋) and a braised beef brisket (牛腩) for the following day's meal. It turned out well.

Great food! Especially their char siew, roast pork and roast duck! Their HK noodle is also amazing, they give fried lard with the noodle which gives another texture and fragrance to the meal.

吃起來很普通的燒臘，燒肉偏硬很像邊邊切剩的，油雞偏乾，面體是算好吃的，但我沒有違背良心為了飲料打卡五星，價格以叉燒面來說也算偏貴，我目前吃到最好吃的還是’燒味天堂‘

Super super yummy.. we had roast pork with rice .. the meat is so tender inside and just crispy at the outer layer . We also had a Green vegetable with oyster sauces 🥬 it is so fresh . Love it ! The services is great 😀will come back again !! Highly recommend! Thank you guys for serving with love ❤️
