First off I used to love this place when it was located on Lincoln! We went here on Irving Park and we were so disappointed. The food was tasteless! The rice was just dark and no flavor! The Szechuan tofu again was tasteless! The tofu they use is way too soft. The sauce had no flavor and it wasn’t even all that spicy. One thing I will say is the vegetables were fresh. The crab Rangoon was overly fried. We felt so uncomfortable because the waitress kept coming to our table every 3 minutes refilling our water. We felt very rushed. They were closing at 2:30 and we got there at 1:50 we had plenty of time to eat in peace, but that definitely didn’t happen. The We will not be going back.

Wanted to come here since they opened and finally had the opportunity. Since chicken and broccoli is so hit or miss here in Chicago, I opted for the “safer” general tso’s chicken, which lacked spice and was actually really sweet. The sauce was just drizzled over the chicken, leaving much of it dry and hard, not at all the meal I had hoped for.

The primary reason I wanted to try out this restaurant was for the egg rolls, but that too was filled with this disappointing paste, instead of the usual egg roll filling I was looking forward to.

Glad I finally got to try it, now I can cross this place off my list.

Service was great. The food was tasty and seasoned so good, we.didn’t need to add nothing. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, he made suggestions after asking what we liked.
I see why the Mongolian beef is popular and the combination rice is a menu highlight.
General Tso chicken and veggie egg roll were decent. Overall our dinner experience was enjoyable.

Welcoming atmosphere but sloppy service for me. I saw customers being welcomed with ice cold water. My food spilled in the bag and had no sauce . The veggie combo was not filling due to low protein content..For the tip I left I expected napkins because I did not eat at home!

Really fun place for Chinese food and Tiki drinks! This place used to be in our neighborhood in Lincoln Square and we never made it in, but they moved not too far away to Irving Park Rd. The service was not the best is my only true critique. Our server was smacking gum the entire time, and her nails were really long which is a little bothersome when someone is setting down plates of food and their nails are touching the inside of your plate. Our server stood around a lot and STARED at us - we had a great time, do not get me wrong, it was just comical at times. We ordered a round of Tiki drinks and as she set them down she said "Don't get drunk." which was a little off putting. We might have considered having 2 drinks each but she kind of made us feel like she wouldn't serve us a second one. The food was scrumptious! There was only one dish that was kind of meh on flavor but everything was tasty. The tiki drinks were not too sweet and flavored just right. There is a very intriguing sauce on the table that is an apricot sauce and it was so good. The owner saw us tasting it while we were waiting for our appetizers and he smiled and said "Apricot!" after he heard us guessing. Overall a fun experience and the weird service just made us like this place more.

The food was excellent. Nice portions, flavor was spot on. We ordered a crab rangoon for an appetizer. For entrees, we had jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and beef and bell peppers. The server was extremely personable. Will be coming back soon.

House of Wah Sun is literally always top-tier and never disappoints. The highest-quality food, always delivered hot, fresh, fast, and with a huge smile.

Can't say better things about it, hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had, we always over-order because everything is so good it's hard to choose what to get — so lucky to be in their delivery zone.
