I feel very lucky I was able to meet Silvano, what an amazing and kind person. And oh my god I was surprised on how delicious the pastries are!! Raspberry pastry and strawberry Swiss roll were my favorites. Can’t stop recommending Island Pastry Haus and Silvano. Me and my family loved every bite!

We used to come here years ago under a different name. The new owners have kept quality there.
I recommend the Danish it's fresh made and you can tell by the flavor.

I was fortunate to stumble upon their sourdough rye bread at the Old Farmer’s Market here in Victoria and couldn’t believe how much it reminded me of the sourdough dough rye I consumed in Austria. I hope to get my hands on this bread on a regular basis.

Fresh pastry house in the town. Everything baked in the store and fresh. Their kitchen is huge. Pain Raisin was delicious and soft!! Very very good.

I must admit I was not impressed the first time I visited this bakery in it's new incarnation. However i now realize they were just ramping up because the next time I went in the cases were almost full with product. I still find them a little pricey but I guess you pay for quality. I do want to shout out for the pretzels, to die for, so buttery and crisp on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside, I am addicted.
Would be remiss if I did not mention the bread.
Very personable employee was so enthusiastic about the bread I just had to try a loaf of the Multigrain. Now I'm hooked, lovely crust, covered in all kinds of seed, perfect chew on the inside. Great as-is with butter but also makes the best toast!
Guess I'm a regular now!
Just to add, I finally ponied up for a Danish, which I thought were a little pricey. All I can say is, they are worth every penny. Every aspect from the flakey pastry to the luscious pastry cream to the fruit filling and the glaze work together to created a symphony of sumptuous flavour!

It’s rather ordinary. The bread is fresh but not memorable. The sourdough is not “real”, ie not leavened for 24 hours or so. The bakery treats look nice, taste ok. The products do not live up to the fancy name.

It was a very small space with only a few chairs for seating. Not a place you can relax and enjoy your food. The pastries all looked delicious, especially the Cinnamon buns with frosting, but unfortunately, we found them a little dry. It would have been much better if they could have been warmed and then frosting added.

I hate to give a negative review, but this bakery is disappointing. The apple fritters were raw inside. When I bought them, both the clerk and I thought they felt heavy. I thought maybe they had extra apples, no they were just undercooked. By the name, we also hoped they would have some German baked goods...no they did not. They probably need to rethink their business.
