Horrible service all around. I asked for shrimp tempura and was asked if I wanted the appetizer or the meal. When asked a question of the sort automatically one is to assume that the only difference will be the portion, NOT the meal itself. I payed 8 dollars for a crappy appetizer that had fried broccoli fried shrimp and a random fried onion ring. Along with fried zucchini. Ridiculous of how the woman who answered the phone and works at the front was disrespectful and did not want to talk through my complaint. My frustration being at the inconvenience not the staff then prepped her to be rude in response. I then called the manager and was told that in order to get my correct order I needed to pay an additional 6 dollars for the inconvenience they caused. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable also unprofessional. And the restaurant smelled disgusting.

Don't normally like to leave bad reviews. We drove 30 minutes, upon arriving a gentleman standing there with the door open, arms crossed (kitchen staff or manager idk) sees us pull up, get out the car and rudely tells us "Closed...", Oh okay... I'm sorry we didn't know. "What time do you guys open? ". Proceeds to step aside and looks at the door sign behind him, no words. *4:30pm. We were 15 minutes early, which I get. But how about you show some politeness next time to your customers? Won't bother coming here again.

Walked in to several dirty tables, was not busy maybe 3 tables sitting. After being sat, and ordering, my husband got his sushi roll, I ordered teriyaki chicken, the chicken and sauce tasted old, not to mention hot chicken served over cold vegetables not cooked at all. I of course couldn't eat my meal, the server Anna offered to take it back to be heated more however I will not send food back. I see it as if the kitchen can not prepare it properly the first time I have no trust in them. The lettuce in the salad was swimming in water, not appealing at all, the miso soup was lukewarm. We had stopped going due to service and food, thought ok it's been a few months will give it another try. No after today I can spend my money elsewhere, the $30.00 paid for a meal for 2 was a waste of my hard earned money. I truly don't know how they are still in business.

Food is good but the price for quantity is lacking severely. I paid $27 after tip and tax for chicken and steak hibachi and there was very few veggies and not a lot of steak or chicken. Also, the steak was ordered medium rare and was medium well when I received it. For very little good food options in Gastonia, it’s okay, but not amazing. Also, the volcano roll I got last week was very fishy.

Long time Sake express fan and this was the first time trying JP's. Food tasted much fresher and quality seemed more on par with a fancier Japanese steakhouse rather than a fast food chain. Definitely our new go to for japanese food. Customer service was also great with very friendly staff, including the two gentlemen making the sushi behind the counter.

Service was friendly. The sushi and sashimi were good. The price was affordable. We weren't fans of the miso soup or the small side salad. The dining area was pretty small, probably more popular as a take-out restaurant.
