Tip: Watch out for the extra credit card processing fee—they add it on top of your bill.

2-Star Review

Service:
I was the first customer on a Saturday morning, and there was only one server working. While I understand it’s tough to manage everything alone, the service was painfully slow. It took forever to take my order, and even basic things like coffee refills didn’t happen.

Food:
The food was okay—nothing special. I tried the Santa Fe Oven Baked Omelette and pancakes, and while they were decent, they didn’t stand out enough to make up for the other shortcomings.

Extra Charges:
What really bothered me was the credit card processing fee added on top of the bill. For a well-known restaurant chain with locations in multiple metro cities, this felt unnecessary and cheap. It’s something you’d expect from small local businesses, not a big chain.

Overall, the experience was disappointing, and the extra fee left a bad impression.

I recommend Richard Walker's Pancake House.
Especially, "German Pancake" can be one of the signature menus in this brunch restaurant.
Squeezing fresh lemons and the appropriate amount of powdered sugar makes the German pancake taste better.
Satisfied size, quality, and affordable price!

Once sat, a server was there fairly prompt. Even ordered in a timely manner...took awhile to get the food, which was good....and then was forgotten about from the server. Never checked back, never offered refills on overpriced drinks. Sat for over 2O minutes with to go box another server brought, final asked for our server. He gave us the check finally and again had to wait to pay him. Based on service, will probably not be back. Will go to other locations.

Richard Walker’s has been an old favorite for many over the last 2 decades. Through renovations, menu changes and management, the food is still created by the same cooks at the center of it all.
The coffee, delicious omelette’s and fluffy pancakes are still served piping hot and delicious as ever. I love the Sante Fe omelette that comes with the fresh salsa and sour cream!
Our server Val was exceptional checking on us many times and topping our coffee from a fresh hot pot! Real cream, butter and hot syrup always add value to make it an excellent breakfast here!! I can’t wait to get back and order the apple pancake and the seasonal pumpkin pancakes! Yumsville ~

Great standby place to go for the best breakfast in town. Consistent service and excellent food quality since we’ve been going over the last 10 years. Food is always hot and coffee always fresh. Real cream for your coffee not half/half. Omelettes have generous portions of veggies, cheeses and meats. The apple pancake is made with real butter and fresh apples. Perfect combinations and something for everyone! Food is never greasy and always tastes delicious. Well worth the wait at this specific location! Don’t settle for the rest, you pay the same and get the best!

Ordered 2 dishes for brunch, baked apple pancake and chicken burger. They are nice though not spectacular. The baked apple pancake is delicious, tasted like apple pie with cinnamon.
Service was good. The restaurant is clean.

This place is like an old diner. I arrived around 10 am on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy, but there was no wait. The service was good considering how busy it was. They were very nice. However, I would have appreciated the staff checking on me after my food arrived because I noticed my water cup was dirty. I had to call out to an employee to switch it out. The food was great, and arrived pretty quickly. I think the pricing was decent. It'd be 5 stars if my booth was a little cleaner. The table was sticky, and the seat had a bunch of dirt and crayons in the corner. Also, the parking lot had plenty of parking, but the clientele drove poorly. I was nearly hit by someone who cut through the parking lot. I guess he was really excited to eat breakfast. Overall, it was a good spot. I'd return and recommend it to others.

Recently dined here and was elated discovering their specialty coffee menu!! Richard Walker's already has the best coffee in town. I had nothing but high expectations and they did not disappoint!! I ordered a double espresso, it was so yummy that I was on cloud 9. I paired it with one of their newer dishes (which I am obsessed with): chicken chilaquiles. I could taste the love in this savory dish. Shout out to our wonderful server, Manuel, with the beautiful presentation of the double espresso and who always welcome us with a warm smile. My family and I are loving the changes and improvements Ray, the owner, has done at the Schaumburg location and the great hospitality atmosphere from the Richard Walker's crew.

*Update: dined today and had a delicious and delectable bowl of Corn Chowder

This is the most unwelcoming breakfast place I’ve ever been to? I mean, smiling is not expensive nor hard or did they judge me based on my clothing. I wasn’t on a Sunday dress and was just wearing jeans and a long sleeve sports top.
My server did not introduce himself but the guy who gives water was smiling a lot and seems to be happy to see people like me there. He is the reason for the 2-star service. My server was not paying attention to what I was saying as they were busy talking about someone at the other side of the room. I needed to repeat myself or I needed to send back a toast because he did not ask me what kind of toast or if there are even any kind of options for sides.
My good was prepped hot. Not sure if my tomatoes were sun dried as they look fresh but I felt like it was the sloppiest egg white scramble I ever had. It was ‘watery’ and far from the photos I’ve seen from this place. I would admit that the scramble was well-seasoned. The corned beef hash on the side has a distinct taste (in a good way), I think it has some seasonings similar to a sausage. It was just a little too salty for my taste.
Of course I tipped them still, just not sure if I’ll be back.
