Wonderful gem hiding in Hico! Wonderfully unique flavor forward menu. At lunch we had the Cuban sandwich and the world famous Collard green Hot Dog. Who thinks this stuff up? It was fabulous. To top it off, the Banana Bread Foster with ice cream was inspired. Worth the drive.

Delicious. Fried chicken was the bomb and I had the Rueben. Both were very good but the fried chicken was the bomb with bacon gravy and collard greens. And bread pudding

Stopped at this restaurant while driving through Hico in route to Fredericksburg, upon recommendation from a friend. The historic hotel was quaint, and the restaurant was amazing. Great choices on the menu. The brisket queso was delicious as was the Reuben sandwich. The restaurant was clean and had great service. Would highly recommend if you are in town or passing through.

Don't waste your time or your money. The absolutely worst meal out I've ever had! Ordered the pork chop with "roasted mushrooms & brussel sprouts" Could not tell the difference between any of it, except that the pork chop had sear marks on it. Hubs had the "surf & turf". Would have been good, but they put hollandaise on ALL of it! I have NEVER seen that before! And I have worked in very high end resturants from Vail to Aspen and Telluride. And the hollandaise was obviously made from an instant powdered mix. The waitress had to read everything off of cards, the specials and even to describe to us what "medium rare" means. Hilarious! But not when the check came & was over $100.00. Struggling resturant trying to act like its "high class" & top notch. Not for those of us who know better.

Nice little small town. The food was delicious. I believe this town has approx 5 black people according to the census but don’t let that scare you away. Me and my guy came here to grab a bite to eat and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We had our meal and cocktails at the bar and the staff was super friendly. We are definitely coming back. The food was delicious! Truly southern comfort, yum! The co-owner is also the chef. Restaurant owned by a husband and wife team.

Just dropped in on The Chop House in Hico Texas and was blown away! Amazing restaurant with some of the best food I have ever very had! The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfect! Mashed potatoes homemade and so delicious! The red chili fried chicken was some of the best chicken I have ever tasted! Crisp and tasty on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. For only $22 you get an entire half a chicken with 2 sides! The owners work onsite !

I love this place. The atmosphere is relaxing and always leaves me satisfied. The food was perfection with the filet being cooked just right.
Our sever made our experience so enjoyable! We were celebrating our 39 anniversary and she made us feel so special.
I am so glad we didn’t have to drive all the way to a bigger city to get and upscale experience. Highly recommend. Recommend going to Silver Spur for a wine tasting before going! Never disappoints!

We went there for my wife's birthday. Very nice and our waitress Bethney was spot on and very attentive. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly.
