Service was absolutely on point! The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. While my steak initially came undercooked, they quickly fixed it without hesitation, and it turned out great.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to finally check The Good Year House off our list. Since we had our dog with us, we were seated outside on their back patio. One thing this restaurant truly excels at is hospitality—a special shoutout to the manager on duty! Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind and welcoming.

We started with the apple and warm cheese dish, which tasted exactly as I had imagined—highly recommend trying it! My husband ordered the Goopy Burger, which was cooked a bit more than he prefers, but he still really enjoyed it and could taste the quality. He swapped his fries for a shaken fry bag with togarashi seasoning, which was unique but delicious.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, which were good, but having lived in Charleston, I’ve become a bit picky about the dish. The flavor was great, but I think it could use a little less chile de árbol.

Overall, we had a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend this spot.

This was our first dining experience here. Brought my parents who were visiting out of town from Florida for dinner here with my husband. I originally booked the Winterfest - for the tent. I thought it would be more an apres ski vibe. It was a little lack luster to what I thought. So we were easily moved inside in a comfortable warm booth. We had a nice bottle of wine with our meal. Service was fantastic.
We started with the crispy rice balls which were good. Some parts were not too hot. And the beef tartare was very interesting with the potato sticks. I would say less potato stick next time.
The boys had the goopy burger. My husband says that he would prefer less mustard and more 1000 island in the sauce. And my dad ranks the burger in between McDonald’s and five guys (five guys being the best). My mom and I tried the shrimp and grits, I liked the mediterranean twist on it but the tomato sauce was a little too much.

The atmosphere was pretty cool in the restaurant. We just expected more for our culinary experience

I remember coming here years ago when it was new and was a fan then. Now they’ve added on to the building quite a bit and the foods still great! Highlights of this meal were the marinated tomatoes and banana pudding served hot!

We arrived early for dinner and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy with plenty of natural light. We ordered bread to start and the grilled Indian corn which were delicious. Two in our group had the ribs which fell off the bone—delicious! I had the wedge salad with shrimp which was very good and filling. We hope to return again with one of our future visits to Charlotte.

We had an excellent experience with The Goodyear House.

1. Everyone we encountered from hostess, bartenders, wait staff, etc greeted us with smiles and said hello. We felt very welcomed here. This warm welcome goes a long way in making the experience more enjoyable.

2. They offered us seating inside or outside. Because of this heatwave, we chose indoor seating. It is a cozy dining area which overlooks the outdoor patio seating and bar. They have bay doors which appear to open and close if they wanted to make the space indoor/outdoor. There is a bit of a rustic but modern feel with wood tables and wood accents including the doors and window trim.

3. The menu was definitely unique. I thought we would see a bunch of traditional southern classics but instead we saw a lot of classic food with a modern and delicious twist. We ordered a fry bag, which is what it sounds like, a bag of fries that you season as desired and shake up, corn curls (delicious! Think Mexican street corn with a slightly different flavor profile), marinated shrimp, smoked cashew Mac, and al pastor chicken. Everything was seasoned really well and came out to our table promptly. My family of 4 including 2 smaller children were able to share these dishes and still leave satisfied.

4. Price... It was fairly pricey. Our bill was $100 before tip and did not include any drinks. However, I thought it was a fair trade for the unique and tasty menu options, quality service, and location of the restaurant.

5. Jesse was our waiter. He was excellent. He made sure to check on us regularly, he knew the menu and the ingredients really well, and he was really just good at his job.

6. Parking sucks. It comes with the area. You can't do anything about it. Unless you get lucky just be prepared for it to suck.

This is an establishment you must try. The layout of the restaurant is unique and the food was really good. It has an out door bar and dining.

Great for date night or day, family or solo dining. Ambiance is casual dressy to dressy. If it's a date night you can have on cocktail attire and it would work out great.

Parking is on the street and limited if you are going during peak times. Please read the signs and respect the driveways by not blocking them with your car.
