The Texas House saved my life. The Texas House is the only place that would open their doors to me when I came in beaten and broken from years of substance abuse. This program is for men who struggle with life and addiction. The counselors and faculty introduced me to processes that taught me how to work through my misconceptions about life. They introduced me to structure and taught me what being a “Man” is really about. The Texas House is the vehicle that brought me to AA, which gave me a new chance at a successful life absent of drugs and alcohol. I took a one way flight with the last bit of money I had and checked in the next day. It was the best investment of my life. It's been 5 years since I walked in and since I left The TexasHouse Rehabilitation went from being kitchen helper to building 5 restaurants for that same establishment. Now, I work from home designing buildings for the biggest manufacturer in North America. Along the way I've been awarded a lifetime achievement "Business Man of the Year" awarded by Goodwill and the Astros.
